PGI Shooter Certification Training Course and Club Shoot

Training Course

On May 17th the MPAG will hold its annual spring training session for PGI Shooter Certification. The class will be held at our spring shoot site near Clare, Michigan.  Class begins at 8am on the 17th and will conclude late in the afternoon with the written test required for the PGI certification process.

What to Bring to the Training Course

I thought that I should write you a quick little note on items that would be good to bring with you to the Display Operators Certification Course.

As you know, we will be doing “Live Fire” exercise, so the following items would be a real plus:

  1. Safety Glasses
  2. Cotton clothes (Denim or the like)
  3. Hard Hat
  4. Hearing Protection
  5. Water or other drinks for during the class (I am sure that I don’t have to mention that alcohol is really not a good idea).
  6. A chair to sit on for outside

We will have some of these supplies available, but our supplies are limited, so if you have your own gear, please bring it.

Additionally, although there will be a lunch supplied at reasonable cost.

Club Shoot

We will be having a potluck dinner, so please bring a dish to pass, if you plan on attending, but please make sure that it requires no refrigeration.

MPAG members will be shooting (and showing off) many of the shells that they build for themselves, as well as other interesting items. You must be a current MPAG member to shoot during the evening, but please feel free to enjoy the show.

Set-up for the shoot will begin at 2pm. The business meeting will be held around 4pm (or at the close of training course), with the fundraiser auction immediately following. Please bring any items you'd like to donate to the auction as well as a dish to pass for the potluck.

REMINDER!  In lieu of shooter/cleanup fees, the club now collects $5 from each shoot attendee (spectators as well as shooters) to help defray the costs incurred from holding a shoot.

Questions about the shoot can be directed to Michael Fales.
